Hi Dr. Nolvadex,
I have a lot of liver disease. I’m on Tamoxifen (nolvadex) for the past two years and have to take it every other day.
I’m not sure if it makes sense to take Nolvadex to reduce my chances of getting a liver transplant, but I’m not sure how I’m supposed to know if taking Nolvadex would help me.
My best advice would be to avoid taking it for the past 12 months. I’ve been using it for the past six months, and it seems to help with my liver function. My current plan is to stay on a low dose for the rest of the year or so until I can get my liver tested for a liver biopsy.
Since it is my first cycle, I’m going to start taking it every other day. I also want to get the results of my liver tests through my blood. I’m not sure how I would be supposed to do that, but I’m not sure where I’m supposed to go from here.
Thanks in advance,
Dr. Nolvadex
Abdulla,Thanks for all the advice,
I’ll definitely see you soon,
I’m on Tamoxifen for five years, and the liver tests have not been done for me so I don’t know how well it would help with my liver, so I’m trying to get everything done.
I’m not sure if I should be taking Nolvadex, or I’m not.
You can.
Thank you.
You’re welcome.
AbdullaDear Dr. Nolvadex:
Thanks for your input. I’ve never had any questions about what the liver function tests look like when you’re on a low dose, like the one on Tamoxifen. I’m taking it for the past six months. My liver is getting worse with no good response. I don’t know how well it would work, but I’m on it. I’m looking into a lower dose for the next three years, and I’ve been told that the liver tests don’t do the job for me, so I’m not sure how to do the research.
Thank you for your question, Dr.
Thanks for the information, and I’ll be sure to look into what you want to do about it.
Thank you for your question and sorry I’m not certain of the answer, Dr.
